I’m Mike Wallace, the person behind Your Data Fixed.
I’ve worked hands-on with data my whole career: mapping for the London Fire Brigade, intelligence systems for the British Transport Police during the 2012 Olympics, the digital record of the UK rail network at Network Rail, data quality on Crossrail, and now GIS and data management in civil engineering. Big organisations, big systems, and one lesson that never changed. When the data is messy, everything built on it suffers.
Small businesses have the same problem with fewer people to throw at it. Broken reports, admin done twice, systems that don’t talk to each other, and someone who spends Friday afternoon re-typing. I’ve made fixing that my job.
